Dear Wellness Center Members,

This is the first time the Wellness Center has been closed for more than a day or two in 36 years. For many of us, our Center is a home away from home, a place to relieve stress and recharge, see friends, and be healthy. Even through these challenging times, it is our mission to continue to improve your health every day and stay connected as a community. Over the past few weeks, we have created an online library of content available to our members, in addition to a weekly “live” class schedule led by our team of instructors. Please visit our website at rmhwellnesscenter.com or visit our facebook or twitter page to find the live class schedule, view class videos or just check in and virtually chat with our team and fellow member friends.

ANSWERS TO YOUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WILL I BE CHARGED MONTHLY DUES WHILE THE CENTER IS CLOSED?

Current members will receive a credit applied back to their membership account for the time we closed in March (March 17-31). We will NOT be billing monthly dues charges for the additional time we are closed. The only exception to this is for those who have chosen to donate their monthly dues through the RMH Foundation Wellness Center Campaign and continue to support the Wellness Center’s continued work in the community.  If you did not see that communication, you can view our campaign information here.

WHEN WILL THE CENTER REOPEN?

I do not think we can answer that question with any certainty at this point. The center will remain closed until we receive guidance from our federal, state, and local agencies to reopen.  The most important thing for us to do right now is to listen to local authorities and follow their instructions on how to keep ourselves and our community safe during this time.

HOW IS THE CENTER CARING FOR ITS EMPLOYEES DURING THIS TIME?

It is a sad time for the fitness industry where some businesses will not make it and staff are being furloughed, yet the Wellness Center is fortunate to be a part of a healthcare system who is able to provide opportunities for our employees to continue to work supporting patient care initiatives at the hospital campus. Sentara RMH has opened up roles within the hospital for not only Wellness Center team members, but also all Sentara RMH staff members who have seen a reduction in time.

HOW IS THE CENTER CARING FOR ITS MEMBERS DURING THIS TIME?

During this time of social distancing, we are reminded just how important our relationships are, including those among our wellness center community. It is a vital time to stay connected and remain active and healthy. We will continue to add content and communication to our website throughout the closure. We also encourage you to get social with us on Facebook and Twitter at @RMHWellnessCenter.

Please continue to check our updates and announcements on rmhwellnesscenter.com, where we will notify you of our plans to reopen.

From the entire Sentara RMH Wellness Center team, thank you again for your support during this time. Please stay safe and well. We are looking forward to seeing you soon.

Best of Health,

George Reid
