SUMMARY:Lifeguard Certification Course April 11-14 2019
DESCRIPTION:25.5 Hour American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course \nEligibility Swim: Thursday\, April 4\, 2019 at 5pm \nIndividuals will be trained through videos\, group discussion and hands-on practice. This 2 year certification teaches rescue and surveillance skills\, First Aid\, CPR/AED\, and other skills needed to work as a professional lifeguard. Minimum age requirement: Participants must be 15 years of age by the last day of the course.\nThe Eligibility Swim is a mandatory prerequisite to take the class. 1) Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing (swimming with face in-water required). 2) Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. 3) Complete this timed event within 1 minute\, 40 seconds: Starting in the water\, swim 20 yards. Surface dive to a depth of 6 feet\, swim 10 to 15 feet along the bottom to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object. If the participant does not pass the swim test\, they will be refunded the registration cost minus a $25 retained testing fee.
